Hours per fortnight:

73.50 hours per fortnight – flexible options available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with communities of interest, such as teachers, young people, people with disabilities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and individuals with low literacy, to promote civic engagement and electoral understanding.
  • Conduct research and consultation to identify opportunities, priorities, and best practices for community and curriculum-based education on electoral processes.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate targeted education and engagement programs, projects, and resources based on principles for effective community and classroom learning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of complex education and engagement strategies that align with community education best practices.
  • Provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders on innovative approaches to civic education, ensuring adherence to democratic principles and inclusive practices.
  • Gather feedback on education initiatives to allow for continuous improvement aimed at increasing civic engagement and electoral understanding.
  • Represent the organization in stakeholder consultations and engagement forums, ensuring alignment with the Tasmanian Electoral Commission’s (TEC) strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders to ensure program relevance and effectiveness. Share specialized knowledge to support the implementation of innovative strategies in community education and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with the Accessibility and Inclusion Coordinator to achieve strategic outcomes and work plans.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment status required).
  • Political neutrality.

Pre-employment Checks:

  1. Criminal background checks including offenses related to arson, violent crimes, sex-related offenses, drugs and alcohol, dishonesty, deception, and more.
